Dear Alps Skiers: For the past 27 years, we have gone skiing in the Alps in January. We all have many good memories of those trips. I began offering ski trips to the Alps based on my experience of living in Europe and skiing at various areas. After moving to British Columbia in 2003 and discovering the wonderful ski areas close to my home, I am eager to have you experience two of them in 2008. This “change of venue” does not mean we won’t do the Alps again. Hopefully, we will have many more years to ski abroad, be it Europe, South America or Canada. Here are the details of our 2008 ski trip. The dates are February 9 through February 17th and include one night in Kelowna, where I now live. I have also included a heli-ski option for February 16 in nearby Revelstoke. There are only 6 slots for the heli-skiing and I need a deposit by November 11th for those who want to go. Anyone who wants to do use mileage for the airfare, can deduct $500. If you do not need a ski pass, it would be $300 deduction. The ski pass includes a day at Big White, another well-know ski area in the valley. We will have two mini vans for transportation. The group will have 5 nights in Silver Star, then we drive to Revelstoke for two nights. We all will ski Revelstoke on Friday (highest vertical drop in North America) while a few will do heli skiing on Saturday. We will then drive to Kelowna on Saturday afternoon. I will have everyone up to my home for wine and cheese that evening prior to dinner. You may
